The Division of Mobility belongs to Department 2.0 - International Office within RWTH Aachen Central University Administration. Our staff plans and coordinates partnerships with universities around the world and advises RWTH Aachen students, staff, and faculty on exchange programs and stays abroad.
We are the first contact for faculties and administrative units in all matters and questions regarding the creation, expansion, and practical implementation of partnerships with universities worldwide. We coordinate contracts with foreign universities and research institutes. In addition we manage RWTH Aachen's central cooperation database.
Mobility of RWTH Personnel
We advise scientific staff as well as the personnel in technology and administration in all matters of foreign mobility. In the field of staff mobility, there are different options for implementation, depending on the target group. In particular, two types of mobility are available for RWTH personnel under the Erasmus+ program: The Erasmus+ Teaching Staff Mobility – Staff Training Assignment or STA – to promote teaching visits in European host universities and the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility – Staff Training or STT – to promote the education of scientific and non-academic staff for career development and internationalization.
Stay Abroad of RWTH Students
We advise RWTH Aachen students, who would like to study abroad, on study options, programs, and funding opportunities, support them in the application and preparation process for exchange programs with the university, and award scholarships for various stays and programs. Our responsibilities including advising about stays abroad in Europe, North America, China, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. Various exchange programs, including Erasmus+, UNITECH International, and UROP, are supervised here. Students can also get information here about internships abroad within the framework of the European Union Erasmus Program.
