Hannover Messe Industry HMI 2017
Monday, April 24, 2017, 10:00am
Also in 2017, the CoE will present itself within the framework of its network Production Technology Aachen (PROTECA) at the joint stand of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hall 16) in Hannover.IAW
Together with the Institute for Work Science (IAW) of the RWTH Aachen University, PROTECA shows an efficient solution in the field of occupational safety, which offers decisive advantages for the workplace thanks to the developments within the scope of Industrie 4.0. The institute developed a “digital posture analysis” that clearly demonstrates a digitization approach for the ergonomic improvement of work systems, for example at assembly workplaces. With the help of sensor technology via the use of a Kinekt-System, the human being is recorded without markers in the course of the assembly process, and his or her body position is analyzed during the individual work steps. Conventionally, this recording of work-related physical activity and its analysis is only possible with high temporal resources. For this purpose, the system provides immediate optimization recommendations in order to avoid an unfavorable posture, which is one of the main risks of damaging the musculoskeletal system. With the illustrative example of the montage steps on a conventional car door, the Aachen scientists offer an interesting research case at the Hannover Messe, which has made the transfer as application to the industry.
In addition, the topic of Industrie 4.0 will be imparted by two expert speakers at the event platform of the Landesgemeinschaftsstand NRW.
