The Student Advice Centre advises school students, prospective students, students, parents, and school teachers.  It is the first point of contact for all questions about studies and the University.

Advising and Services for School Students and Prospective Students

The area advising and services for school students and prospective students offers a variety of possibilites to those who want to think more about studies and research. Aside from taster events in the different subject areas at RWTH Aachen, interested individuals can get information at info events and presentations. Individual advising on topics such as choosing a course of study, study demands and content, application, and enrollment often make it easier to make the switch to university studies.

Advising and Offers for Students

Students can contact student advising in the Student Advice Centre with all questions related to studies. The team also gives presentations and workshops on different topics, such as doubting studies, changing subjects, and re-orienting yourself. Additionally studens can clarify brief concerns and questions during the open office hours or arrange an individual advising appointment.

 

Psychological Counseling

The psychological counseling advises and accompanies students in all problems that affect their studies. It takes place in individual conversations, and offers additional academic trainings for groups. With its counseling and advisory offerings, it complements the activities of the departmental advisors and RWTH Aachen mentors.

In addition, VORSCHUB organizes the German-speaking self-help groups Depression and Anxiety as well as Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There is currently no English-speaking self-help group. If enough students show interest however, it may be possible to form one, so please contact VORSCHUB if you would like an English self-help group to be offered.

 

Talent Scouting Aachen

Talent Scouting Aachen is an additional offer from the student advice centers of RWTH and FH Aachen. Talent scouts at comprehensive schools, Gymnasien, and vocational schools in the Aachen region are the first contact for talented school students who are interested in studies and research but don't feel confident pursuing.
